AYE SET FOR AYEEN 2017

Mr Summy Smart Francis of Africa Young Entrepreneur (AYE) has announced the latest edition of their Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Empowerment Nigeria  (AYEEN) project 2017

AYE is also set to partner with Airopay and promises a very innovative and highly engaging, environment for their beneficiaries

According to him, the organisation boast of over 12.6 million members across 20 countries including the United States of America and Britain and is dedicated to supporting the growth of entrepreneur in the Africa.

Francis expressed satisfaction on the success of AYEEN2016. According to him, over five thousand young entrepreneurs pitched their many business ideas to Nigerian and foreign expert. Five hundred existing and startup entrepreneurs became beneficiaries and were with grants, business training, equipment, and mentorship.

“We support entrepreneur by helping them with a grant, specialized skills training, mentorship and training. This has helped many of them to break free from the initial teething problems of startups and gave them the confidence to take that leap to business success”. he said.

He, however, called on the government to support entrepreneurship organisations with good track records.

In his address, AYE National Head, Mr. Olubunmi Oluwadare expressed dissatisfaction on government response towards entrepreneurs. He advised the government to create an enabling infrastructural program for entrepreneurs while urging banks to grant loans with less complicating procedures.

“An average Nigerian man or woman has an entrepreneurship zeal, and this the first attribute of an entrepreneur. If you go to the street you will a lot of people selling pure water running after fifty naira. This shows that the spirit is there already.

In Bornu State, the youth that ought to be empowered, are now empowering themselves to fight the government. Therefore government should create and enabling environment put infrastructure in place and creates a policy. Also the bank which is the engine room of building an entrepreneur should be restructured”.
